The next-generation Tesla production line will be built in Michigan and the construction of the first plant is set to begin in March 2019.
The automaker has said that the factory will produce a new Model 3 sedan.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his team are hoping to start construction in 2020.
The next phase of the assembly line is expected to be completed by 2019.
In January, Tesla announced that it was working on a new battery factory in China.
The company also announced that the production of the next-gen Model 3 was to start in 2019.
As a part of the new facility, a new factory in the state of Michigan was planned to produce battery packs for Tesla’s forthcoming electric car.
The construction of this new battery manufacturing facility is expected be complete by 2019, according to a recent report from Bloomberg.
Bloomberg reported that the plant will be located in Dearborn, Michigan.
The first plant will begin production of lithium-ion batteries for the new electric vehicle in 2019, the report added.
